Welcome to our Village!

Welcome to Our Village!

We’re thrilled you’ve joined our community and look forward to many years of positive impact together.

Our programming across water and sanitation, reproductive health, and obstetric fistula is made possible by our strong partnerships with village leadership, local health centers, Iganga district health officials, and volunteer community health workers called Village Health Teams. These collaborators serve as local champions of the work and support their neighbors to keep everyone healthy and thriving.

In the same way, we couldn’t do this work without you. You are a member of thousands of committed partners around the world that allow us to build relationships with each village, working tirelessly to ensure that every family has the information and resources they need to improve their own health and well-being.

Our staff in Iganga are most often the direct recipients of the emotional thank you gestures from the community. After the last cohort of women received life-changing fistula surgery, we were humbled by the outpouring of enthusiastic hugs, smiles, and joy. We’ve also received chickens from villages celebrating their new well, grateful smiles from mothers protecting their children from malaria and water-borne diseases, and happy tears from fathers who share stories about how their new sanitation practices will reduce illness, reduce medical bills, and protect their families.

This work would not be possible without you. Your support allows UVP to operate health programs that change lives. Those grins, handshakes, and chickens are because of your generosity.

Webale nnyo! (Thank you very much!)

Warmly,

Stephanie Kaye
